Movie worth Watching

After mannyy days, I saw a film which was worth seeing. Had been with my colleagues, tickets sponsored by our BOSS.There is one dialogue which appears before the movie starts.. that's too good. I dont remember it.
As usual... Aamir at his best........(I hated his hair style),
A.R had done his usual very good piece of work by composing the music... simply superb.
Madhavan with his cuuuuute smile.......(so sweet ;-)) Hmmmmmmmmmm.... Madhavan..... Flight Lt Ajay shouldn't have died in the plane crash.. I hated that part u know? My eyes had become moist... first part of the movie goes good, but I didnt like the 2nd part much..but still, nothing wrong in seeing this movie... Just go and watch it if u haven't.

There is one sentence which Madhavan says to his friends when all of them are near the runway.. he says that he would go to that place and watch the planes fly till they disappeared in the clouds. I said 'me too' :-)

The Weekend

Friday evening...One of my bst frnd Maha.. fortunately, my hostel mate too, was leaving me and going to our native. She was getting ready.

Me: Maha... tussi jaarahe ho???
She: (luking at her image in the mirror, in style)Haan... main jaa rahi hoon....

Me:Tussi shauk se jaaoo....

She: Abbey, zyada naatak math kar...tughe main aane ke baad dekhungigi.

Saturday morning, I got up & started thinking as to what to be done for the weekends. Options were, I could go to my cousin's house, or A(who would be busy making up her new home), or drag R(who is always hibernating on his weekends), M(who is always busy playing cricket),P(who is busy with his books), Pammi(who always welcomes the trouble...hehhe...me) A & L(who get headache at the thought of roaming out...lazy gals..).... pakka opposite to me... or to my colleague's house...

At PRESENT I am not blessed with a guy IN BANGALORE with whom I could flirt around with. So.. I didnt have this option.. :-( had to carry on with the above ones. Made the plan and set out to my Cousin's house.

My eyes got cooled after seeing Shahrukh and Enrique Iglesias over the TV after many days. Had taken some sweets for her darling little daughter. At first the little gal refused to come to me, but later when she learnt that I was leaving... she put her hands forward..crying..insisting me to take her. I am that good with the kids u know?

Next day, took A with me to Pammi's house.... chatted for some time... regarding our Statistic's classes... we two were the gals who used to enjoy a lot sitting at the first bench, even though 3 of that subject's faculties were very strict. They knew we were GOOD GALs, so didnt say MUCH to us. She always tells me.."Preeti.. u spoiled me..." May be, because she was very innocent and decent. Moreover I got the compliment from my colleagues on the 3rd day of joining..." Preeti.. u r going to spoil us". I said 'great'. Atleast I am able to do something... :-) . Such compliments are difficult to get u know?

Heard some wanted songs of Enrique from her system to my heart's content. Later in the evening A & I got dispersed. By the time I reached hostel, all the gals had had their dinner and were in their respective rooms. None watching TV. Well missed out Mission Udaan due to the power failure. Later, I was the only person who was found in front of the TV. Remote was restless....

THERE IT WAS!!!!!! MY FAV FILM.... A HORROR ONE!!!!. Wahh!!!!!

After sooo many days I was watching one. Happiness knew no limits... THe room too was perfect. The room was big... TV just in front of me.... room chilled.... 2 big windows on the either side of the TV... lights of the street lamps falling on the disturbed leaves due to the breeze... the leaves of the mango trees reflected on the windows looked like the ghost's fingers.... all this was just perfect to make the room scary. HOW I ENJOYED!!!!!!

The day ended perfectly..... not at all wishing for the next day to be M O N D A Y.

Hesaid the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed and gettingto the patient within 3 hours which is tough. There is nothing morelife saving than getting the patient to the hospital in the FIRST ONEHOUR! The Golden Hour it is now known as to Doctors and emergencyattendents alike!RECOGNIZING A STROKERemember the "3" steps. B'day Wishes to the Music Maestro.

Today happens to be my very very fav composer's B'day.A.R.Rehman.
Today at 12 AM, in FM, the RJ's played music composed by him. Yes, I was awake, till 3 AM!!!! Well, cannot play music in the Hostel, so have got my own cute little piece of a thing called radio.Songs played were simply superb.... :-)

Music composed by him are real nice treat for most of our ears. It's unique.....really.Got to know that he is on some projects related to ' Lord of the Rings '.

A Short Sad Story....

Flashback....

It's been atleast 2.5 years that I met my group (all members at once), i:e during the end of our graduation days. Our meetings after that never had all of us together.
Today their thoughts were haunting me as I was walking alone in the green fields near the outskirts of Bangalore city. I was supposed to visit the Global Village there (a group of 4-5 IT companies near Kengeri). The temperature and the weather were same when we used to go to picnics outside our home town. That place was just perfect for us always, to sit and chat.... eating home made food under the trees...pulling each others legs.... some serious discussions.....some fun facts...those Dil Chahta Hai, Kaante and RHTDM songs while driving...hmmmm . Kaante had been our fav movie that time.

Hey group..., I MISS U ALL A LOT...

11th December

__________11th Dec198_ is supposed to be a very important day in my history and to some of my troubled friends too...
__________It was about 10PM of 10th Dec 05.... eagerly waiting for the clock to strike 12 midnight and receive the calls from the dear ones. But the heavy dinner, drowsy eyes, tiresome day had already sung lullabies for me and made me sleep at 10.30. Had to keep the cell in the Sshhhhhh... mode, 'coz, receiving calls after 10.30 PM is not permitted in the hostel I stay... any ways i could see the missed calls in the morning. Did so and slept... as usual missing my cozy bed at home.
__________Much awaited morning came.... woke up.. hugged myself and said 'Happy B'day'. Took the cell to see for the missed calls and the messages. SURPRISES AND SURPRISES!!!!! NO MISSED CALLS, NO MESSAGES????? Naturally... got a bit upset (who does not). How could anyone forget this day? "Hota hai, hota hai...Let them take their own sweet time and call you Preeti...", Preeti said to herself. After sometime, my roomie got to know about my day. She wished me and SHE gave me some sweets and a slice of cake which she had... It was so nice of her. Later, we got to know why I wasn't getting any calls... NETWORK PROBLEM .... Should have happened only on that day or what??
__________Afternoon time, had been to another friend's room where she and her bro lived. An unforgettable moment, she took the piece of cake, placed it over a plate, gave a spoon... no no not to eat, but to cut the cake holding the spoon the other way.
She: sorry pre, knife is not to be found, and candles are not there.
Me: Its OK Sweeti.. how about torch in place of candles..
(giggles)

Cell got flodded byfriends calls, keeping some of them in waiting. later came to know that few of them had called Ash and asked 'What happened to Preeti's cell?". All she could reply was that she too had been trying to call since 12PM but couldn't get in contact.

__________After that my group called me to the palace grounds to see an event where Shaan, Alka Yagnik... performed the show. My 2 eyes and ears were not enough to see Shaan singing Tanha Dil and Bhool Ja.. my favorite songs. The crowd had gone crayz(well... it includes me too...) . That was the gift my friends gave...

The Biigggg Interview

Was on the way to a friend's place yesterday, and got to see this company again. Ok, let me tell about this.
This unwanted interview took place around a month back when it was only 5 days I had joined my present job into IT Marketing. When I was idle I had sent my resume to a MNC Co. belonging to the Finance Industry. My profile satisfied their requirement. (Statistics in Graduation & Finance in MBA…had Marketing too). I had both in my resume.

Let me make it clear to everyone. I hate finance field like anything.

Ok, let me put in Javed’s English as in ‘Salaam Namaste’.
“ I ........ the hates working in finance fields…..(sorry..)….eeggjhaktly…” (I have become a big fan of his unique English since then, need to take classes).

I had been seeing my dad in that field since childhood & even now…so developed an allergy towards it..allergens being the financial terms. My name was short listed for the written test. Though not interested, I gave the test, which was for one and half hour. Again my name was short-listed!!! Infact I was sure, it would be. I was given the date for the interview. I wished that shouldn’t have happened. Called up 'R', my friend, to say about this & said to him that I won't be going for it, because... not interested in that field.

“Have you gone crazy?? How can u afford to ignore such a big Company & that too an initial package of 2.5- 3 lakhs?? Listen to me, you go & give the interview.. that’s it…
For the respect I have for him, I decided to attend it. Took the leave for half day from my work, waited for an hour, then came my turn. There were 2 interviewers, one, a beautiful young lady and the other a gentleman. They welcomed me with sweet smiles. Finally had a SEAT, on which I never wished to be on. They first made me feel comfortable… as it happens in every interview. After the basic questions were over…..
Interviewer1: Ok Preeti… now shall we proceed with the technical questions of finance??
My heart sank…missed a beat… what all…I very well knew what questions they would be…really..
Interviewer2: What is Capital Budgeting?
I knew the answer to it, and so answered it Jhat Se…(felt amazed at myself for answering it).
I1: What is depreciation?
Wonders and Wonders!!!! Answered this too…
I2: There are 4 methods in depreciation, what are they?
Me: errrrr…. I don’t remember them…(yes, how could I, it was almost one and a half year that I read about it..)
I1: Ok Preeti… try to answer at least two ….
It seemed to me like, if I don’t answer her questions…the company would stop functioning..
Some more questions like liquidity ratio..that ratio..this ratio…forwards, futures, options were fired at me. I answered some and skipped some. That chap even asked me about costing and taxation, which was out of my reach, ‘coz never had that subjects.
After some ‘err…’s & ‘sorry ma’am’, THEY ACCEPTED THE DEFEAT…
I1: Ok Preeti, are you comfortable with marketing?
Me: (happily…) yes ma’am…very much…
They asked 4-6 questions and I answered all of them.
From the time I had sat on that chair, I was looking as to when I will leave it.
“Ok Preeti”, she said, “ if your name is short listed again, you need to come once again…..for the HR interview.
I very well knew that I wouldn’t get selected, because the company doesn’t want to get into losses..
Thanking them, I was out of the “DEN” in a few minutes, didn’t wished to look back, but did so, ‘coz the building was magnificent.
